When a hiring team schedules an interview with you, Katara gives it its own page. From there you can check the details, confirm that the time works, or ask for a different one. You don't need to be signed in to use it.
Opening your interview page
- From your invitation. Open the link in your calendar invitation or Katara notification.
- From your dashboard. Upcoming interviews appear under Upcoming interviews. Click one to open it.
- From your application page. Under Interviews, click View details next to the interview.
What the page shows
The heading reads "Interview for" followed by the role, with the company name at the top. You also see:
- When, shown in your own timezone
- Duration, in minutes
- Location with a map for on-site interviews, Join link for video calls, or Format for phone calls
A badge in the corner shows where things stand. Until you confirm, it reads Awaiting your confirmation.
Confirming the time
- Open your interview page.
- Check the date, time and location.
- Click Confirm this time.
The page then shows "You've confirmed this time." and the hiring team is notified. On your application page, the interview is marked Confirmed instead of Please confirm.
Asking for a different time
If the time doesn't suit you, you can propose another one, as long as the team allows it. If you don't see the button below, the team has turned rescheduling off for this interview, so contact them directly.
- Open your interview page.
- Click Need a different time?
- Check the timezone shown under the interview details and change it if needed.
- Pick a date, then pick an open time slot.
- Click Request this time.
The times on offer come from the interviewers' availability. If none are listed, you see "No open times found". Check back later or contact the team.
After you request a new time
Your request doesn't change the interview straight away. The team needs to confirm your new time before it's final. Meanwhile your interview page shows "Reschedule requested for" followed by the time you chose, and your original time still stands.
- If the team accepts, the interview moves to your new time and counts as confirmed. Katara notifies you about the change.
- If the team declines, your original time stays in place and Katara lets you know.
You can only have one request open at a time. Once the team has answered, you can ask again if you need to.
