Open any job from the Jobs page to see its pipeline. Each stage is a column, and each candidate is a card. Changes you make appear for the rest of your team without a page refresh.
The toolbar
The row above the board holds:
- Search candidates: filters cards by name, email or headline.
- Job description: opens the full description of the role. It only appears when the job has one.
- A save indicator. While changes are being sent it shows Saving 1 change. If you lose your connection it shows Offline, 1 change waiting and sends the change when you're back online.
- Board and List tabs to switch views. Katara remembers your choice in this browser.
Board and list views
Board shows stages side by side as columns. On a phone, the board shows one stage at a time. Tap a stage name in the row of chips at the top to switch.
List shows every stage as a section, one after another, with a compact row per candidate. Click a stage heading to fold or unfold it.
Moving candidates
You can move a candidate in two ways.
Drag and drop. Drag a card into another column, or up and down within a column to change the order. Dragging is turned off while a search is active, so clear the search first.
From the candidate panel. Click a card to open the panel, then:
- Click Move to followed by the next stage name to move them on one step.
- Or open the Move to stage menu and pick any stage.
- To reject, click Reject. You can add a Reason (optional) that only your team sees.
In the panel, press j and k to step through the other candidates in the same stage.
Only owners, admins and hiring managers assigned to the job can move candidates. Everyone else sees the board read-only.
Collapsing columns
On a wide screen, click the arrow in a column header to collapse it to a narrow strip. Click it again to expand it. Katara remembers which columns you collapsed for each job, in this browser.
Column headers
Each header shows the stage name and how many candidates are in it. If interviewers still owe scorecards for candidates in that stage, an amber badge such as 2 due appears.
What a card shows
- The candidate's name and headline, or their name and email if they don't have a Katara profile.
- Where they came from, for example Inbound, Marketplace, External or Referral, and who referred them.
- Time in stage, in days. A card that changed today shows Today.
Cards can also carry tags:

| Interview date and time | Green with a tick when the candidate has confirmed. Amber while it's Awaiting candidate. Hover to see which. |
If a candidate asks to move their interview, the card shows Candidate asked to move to and the new time, with Approve and Decline buttons. See Scheduling interviews.
